Whenever possible, students should attend one of the Student Employee Orientation sessions to learn about the University’s program and to complete the necessary federal and state forms that trigger the payroll process. Reminding them of the dates and instructing them to attend a session would be greatly appreciated. Click here to view the Student Employee Payroll Dates. Before the first payroll date, please ask your student employee/s if they have completed the I-9, (pdf) and State and Federal Tax forms, (pdf).
The Student Work Authorization Card, (pdf) is one of the final forms needed to process student payroll. This document informs the payroll office from which department or FWS organization to deduct student wages. One green Work Authorization Card should be completed for each office and/or organization in which a student is employed. The supervisor’s signature is required on the green Work Authorization Card and on the Student Bi-Weekly Timesheet, (pdf). Students may obtain all payroll forms from the Student Payroll Office, Esch 155, or from Career Services, Schwitzer Student Center 206.
Annually in April, the campus pauses for Hardworking Hounds Week to show appreciation for our student employees. During this week, the Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) and nominees are recognized. The recognition committee receives nominations for SEOTY from a supervisor or a peer. Student employees may also nominate themselves. You may view the SEOTY Guidelines and Nomination Form, (pdf).
