Recruiter Interviews and Information Sessions


The employers listed below have confirmed campus visits this year. They offer great beginning career opportunities and/or internships. We encourage students to keep an open mind and consider meeting with any or all of the organizations that come to campus. They are looking for capable and enthusiastic college talent. Often, having a specific college major is not a factor. Interviews are conducted in the Career Services Office, Schwitzer Student Center, Room 206.

In order to participate in campus interviews or group networking sessions, you need to register online with Career Services by going to careers.uindy.edu and clicking on Current Student and then Jobs/Internships & JobHoundConnect. Complete or update your JHC profile and upload your up-to-date resume. Please act soon. Some employers prescreen resumes before selecting the candidates they wish to speak with. Whether you come for an individual interview or attend a small group recruitment presentation, you should always dress professionally if you wish to be taken as a serious applicant. In preparation for these interviews and networking sessions, visit the company web sites by clicking the links below. Get a sense of the participating organizations and the industries in which they operate. Look at job titles, closely examine job responsibilities, and try to determine how a given work setting might work for you. Remember all you have learned about interviewing effectively. Some beginning positions are necessary stepping stones to other excellent opportunities. Above all, keep an open mind or you may be sorry later! And... be sure to show up for your appointment or the presentation. Last minute cancellations are totally unacceptable.

Recent and prospective accounting, finance/economics, business administration, management, and marketing graduates, or communications or other majors with a business minor or courses and significant retail/customer service experience are eligible to interview provided they have a 2.8/4.0 GPA. Federated Insurance (www.federatedinsurance.com), based in Owatonna, Minnesota, with processing offices in Atlanta and Phoenix, and claims offices in 10 locations around the country, including Indianapolis, seeks candidates for claims representative positions. Federated is one of the few insurance first that recruits for opportunities other than financial sales. Those students who may be interested in financial sales opportunities with Federated may drop off a resume the day of the firm's campus visit and the recruiter will be happy to pass it along to the marketing manager.  Business, marketing, criminal justice, and communication majors are encouraged to interview but prospective graduates of other fields are welcome also. Enterprise Rent-A-Car(www.go.enterprise.com), A major player in the rental car company and major player on the college recruitment scene, will interview prospective graduates and alumni for their full-time management/sales trainee position as well as December 2010/May 2011 graduates for their internship opportunities. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status is required. Management trainees are involved in all aspects of the business with both formalized and hands-on training in sales, marketing, customer service, administration/operations, fleet management and more. Candidates of any academic are welcome to interview. Sales and customer service experience is helpful but not required.
