Internship Program Events and Activities

iUindy Orientations:

January 14 (Thursday), 2:00 PM, Schwitzer 010

Students attending this session will learn how to begin the internship search process and how to be competitive candidates.  Maximizing Career Services’ JobHoundConnect system and other job boards, networking, creating winning resumes, interviewing and meeting basic expectations of an internship are all topics to be addressed. No pre-registration is required.



iKnow Sessions:
February 4 (Thursday), 2:00 PM, Schwitzer 010, Maximizing Job Fairs
Attending a job fair can sometimes be overwhelming. How can you make the most of your valuable and limited time, meeting as many employers as possible, communicating what you need to communicate, and getting the results you want? Students attending this session will learn what employer goals are in participating in job fairs and three important steps that will increase their effectiveness at these great networking events. No pre-registration is required.


February 23 (Tuesday), 2:00 PM, Schwitzer 010, Tips 4 New Professionals
This session will provide employment and career information helpful for the aspiring professional. Whether you are graduating in May or a few semesters thereafter, it’s important to know how to get off to a strong start in your first career position—how to create a foundation and positive experience that can lead to future opportunities. No pre-registration is required.

Collegiate Career Expo
February 18 (Thursday), 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Indiana Convention Center, 500 Ballroom

Professional Image Etiquette Dinner
March 24 (Wednesday), 4:30 PM, UIndy Hall
Certified trainer Joy Leppert will lead UIndy students through a complete dining etiquette training experience while also offering advice on mingling and eating at the same time, greetings and introductions, the art of conversation, presenting an overall professional image, and other topics.  Helpful handouts will also be provided.  Space is limited to 50 participants.
